Meeting of Show Committee.

A meeting of the show committee was held on the 25th ult. In the absence of Mr Tayor, Mr Walton, honorary secretary, took the chair. The Chairman read the minutes of business transacted at the meetings of the sub-committee. Letter to Mr Hudson, Railway Traffic Manager, containing a request for special trains, read. The following reply was received from that gentleman. "J. Walton, Esq., Te Awamutu :—Sir, —With reference to your letter of the 14th inst., I have the honour to inform you that there will be a day excursion from Auckland to Te Awamutu on March 17th. A special train will also be run from Cambridge and Hamilton to Te Awamutu, extended. As well as a day excursion, tickets will be issued by the excursion train from Auckland, the extended tickets being available to the 21st March. Saturday return tickets to Te Awamutu will be issued at any station on 10th March, and will be available for return up to and including the ISth March." The following telegram was received from Mr Hudson in reply to one from Mr Walton: —"Your wire on excursion tickets from Auckland and Newmarket on March 17th, for day only, first-class nine shillings, second-class six shillings and sixpence. From Auckland on 17th, available for return up to 21st inclusive, first-class, eighteen shillings, second-class, thirteen shillings." The Secretary vyas instructed to write to Mr Hudson to ask that exhibits be carried to and from the show free, Mr Johns moved, and Mr Moody seconded "that Col, Smith, Messrs Walton and Teasdale be a committee to provide accommodation for the exhibits." Carried. Proposed by Mr Moody, seconded by Rev. Mr Boler, "that Messrs D. Hay and Gillespie be asked to act as judges of fruit, flowers and vegetables in all classes at the show." Carried. It was resolved that Mr John Bollard, of Avondale, Auckland, be asked to act as judge of farm ami dairy produce. The following gentlemen were appointed a staging committee ; — Messrs Mopdy, Sharp, G. Edgecumbe, J. Pott.-, Mason, Johns, Teasdale and Andrew. The Rev. Mr Boler, Col. Smith, and Mr J. H. Scott were appointed a decoration committee. It was decided that the secretary be authorised to make arrangements for securing the services of the Te Awamutu Cavalry Band for the show day. It was dacided that white arm badges for the committee be provided. This was all the business.
