LIQIUD MANURE FILTER.
The way I made mine, says a correspondent of Gardening Illustrated, was as follows : —I procured a large spirit cask, and at the bottom inserted a good sized straight cooper's tap ; then filled the tub about one-third with broken flower pots and puncheons, brick ends, &c. : on these placed straw, about four inches, or, better still, matting. I added manure, soot, and water, and had the soapsuds put in every week. When I draw it off—which anyone can do without soiling the fingers —it is like bottled stout; and, another advantage, there is on the flower pot none of that sediment which accumulated with my old system of making liquid manure.
