Rei'out.—At Cambridge on Saturday last wo hud a fair supply of all classes of cattle, and sold nearly all yarded but some beef. Horses : A large number were entered, and we sold many ridine: o-iid light sorts at prices from £2 10s to &(>; good upstanding, fit for saddle i.r harness, £10 to £15 ; draughts, not wanted. At Ohaiipi-i on Tuesday, the cattle yards were well tilled, and there was fair enquiry at late prices. Beef yarded in large numbers, and dull ot sale. Dairy cows scarce and wanted. The sheep fair was a success, nearly all the sheep yarded reaching the sellers' reserves. Rams were not in such demand as in previous years, we having sold upwards of 100 privately previous to the fair. Prices realised were : 200 2-tooth crossbred ewes, Millinan, 8s Gd, National Bank ; 106 two, four and six-tooth ewes, W. Taylor, 8s 3d, Hemes and Thompson ; 32 two-tooth Lincoln ewes, J. McNicol, His, W. Mkssus Ai.i'iiKD Buckland Wkeki,v ueI'OKT—At the Haymarket on Friday, February 11, loose fodder brought from 2s 6d to 3s 3d the cwt ; chaff, £4 to £4 10s per ton. oats, from Is lid to 2s (id the bushel ; pressed hay, £4 the ton. Horse stock were yarded in full numbers, but met with a slow sale ; Inte values scarcely maintained. At the hide and skin sale on Tuesday, hides maintained their late values. Best ox hides brought 4.',dper]b; pelts and skins from lid to 2s Gd each. About 40 bales and a considerable number of bags of wool sold freely, and brought from to7.xd the lb. The cattle sale held at Pokeno and Drury, respectively, have been fairly supplied with stock. Prices for young cattle have slightly advanced, and best dairy cows were also in better enquiry. At Rcmnera on Thursday : Good dairy cows, at calvine , , were in better enquiry ; fat cattle, in full number, were lower than last week, and brought from 15s to 17s the lOOlbs ; sheep, in moderate supply, were dull of sale, but realised last week's values ; lambs were lower, about 2s each; pigs of good quality scarcely obtained last week's values.
Messes Hunter and Nolan's Report. —Horses : A gnod many have been offered for sale and found purchasers without any definite alteration in value. There was a good muster for disposal by auction at the Durham yards on Friday. There was a good attendance of buyers, the principal attraction being the thoroughbred mare Friendship, which was purchased by Mr G. Wright, at one hundred and seventy guineas. Light harness horses were in better request than on the previous week, but for a few lots reserves could not be reached. We quote hacks, from £7 to £12 15s ; light harnpss horses, £8 to £12 10s ; spring cart, £9 to £13 10s ; no heavy draught were disposed of. Wool, hides, and skins : The supply of hides has been small. We quote cow hides, to 3id ; ox hide*, 4kl; sheep skins, Is to 3s 3d ; wool, Gjd to 7d. Cattle : There has been more vitality in the market than for the two previous weeks, an increased number were brought forward and found purchasers. Dairy and store stock at previous values, and fat beasts at a slight advance. The Newmarket yards on Tuesday were well supplied with fat beast, and except in the case of small cows not sufficient up in condition, tlißfe was an upward tendency in value. Wo quote : Driry cows from £4 to £0 10s ; beef from lGs to 21s. Sheep : At the fair on Thursday, the 10th instant, at Green Lime, stores and lambs advanced in value—ewes, L's (id per head ; and lambs 2s. A good many Lincoln rama found purchsscrs at from £1 10s to £3 10s : Downs have not bean so much sought after as last year, prices ranged from £1 15s to £4. There was a good muster at Newmarket on Tuesday, the 15th. Seores were a shade cheaper than at the fair, but prices for fat wethers advanced on the previous week's rates. Lambs : Adequate, and sold at from 7s 3d to 11s lid. Tigs : Scarce, but sufficient for demand. Trices ranged from lid to 3d per lb, live weight. AUCKLAND MAUKKT QUOTATION'S.
