fBY TELEGRAPH—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Gold at Whangarei. Auckland, Friday Night. The prospectors at Whananaki Inlet, Whangarei, have arranged for a prospectors license. They have a four feet reef, but it does not show gold. The precious metal was, however, seen in a leader rom the reef. Death of an old Prospector. Mr Frederick Reid, who died yesterday, was one of the first discoverers of gold in New Zealand.
