• [reuter's telegrams.] London, Jannary 28. _ In the House of Commons yesterday Sir Jaines Fergusson, Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs, announced that negotiations were proceeding between the Imperial and United States Governments relative to the Canadian fisheries' disputes. It was hoped that a friendly settlement would shortly be arrived at. The Pall Mall Gazette publishes an article exposing the healing miracles of Mr Milner Stephen. Sir Henry Holland upholds the action of Sir Henry Havelock, Governor of Natal. The Procedure Bill to be introduced embraces the cloture. The newly-appointed Bishop of Perth is a passenger by the-Roine. Mr Parnell intends to move an amendment to the Address-in-Reply. The meeting of the Imperial Conference has been postponed tor a fortnight, in order that the Victorian and New South Wales' representatives may he present at the discussion of questions relating to the islands of the Pacific. January 29. Messrs Samuel Allsopp & Sons, Dale ale brewers, intend to convert their business into a company, with a capital of £3,500,000. Her Majesty the Queen has approved the appointments of Mr Edward Waldemar Johansen as Danish Consul at Auckland, and Dr. Korfcum as German vice-consul at Cooktown. Constantinople, January 28. Sir Henry Drummond Wolff, British Special Commissioner to Turkey and Egypt, has arrived in this city.
