|BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION "J WELLINGTON Saturday. The Colonial Secretary will leave for the Soutli in a few days, and will a meeting of sheep inspectors in Canterbury and Otago, with a view discussing the question of reform in the department. The financial returns of the City Council for the nine months, from the Ist April to tha 31st December, shows the receipts of general account to be £17,701 for that period, the estimate for the year being £22,504 ; expenditure for the nine months being £22,527, out .of £24,840 estimates for the year. TIMAIIU, Monday. An elderly man named McHenry was found dead this morning under the railway viaduct near Mr Perry's house. It is supposed he was walking over the viaduct and fell off. DUNEDIN, Monday. The court of enquiry has found that the master of the dredge and the master of the Omapere are both to blame for not reducing their speed before the collision took place. The certificates were re turned, and the two masters were ordered to share the costs of the enquiry.
