PROPOSED CHANGE IN THE MANAGEMENT OF THE CAMBRIDGE DOMAIN BOARD.

TO THE EDITOR. Sih,—lll regard to this much talked of subject, I crave a small space for a few lines in your valuable paper. In the place, I would like to ask why Mr Well* wishes to cling to office, when to use his mvn words,' "there is nothing in the business but worry and trouble. Now, Sir, Mr Wells is fully aware of the fact that the Government wish public domains to be in die hands of elective bodies ; then, why all this fuss and bunkum about the proposed fiance. The Chairman of the Domain Board here at the last meeting in hi> usual bombastic manner pointed nut, that in Auckland, men of culture can be obtained. And I must conclude from his remarks that he considers himself the euly man of culture in our township. 'le concludes his remarks bv saying that "The Mayor and council might be members but others who have some special knowledge should be associated with them." This is a direct insult to our Mayor and council, and time will prove that the chairman of the Cambridge Domain Board is not the only man in Cambridge who is capable and willing to do do every bit as well as he (although that gentleman appears to fancy that he and he only has rhe requisite abilities.) To conclude, Mr Wells makes a great outcry about the etiquette to be observpd by one public body towards another. Yet he as chairman allows one of the members of the domain board at the last meeting to make use of the most insulting language in referring to die borough council. This is etiquette with a vengeance. Now, Sir, I ask is such a man in Mr Wells, opinion a -man of culture? for my part I think with most of the public here, that the sooner such parties are put out of office the better.--I am, yours obediently, A Kate-i-ayeh.
