PUKEKURA ROAD BOARD.

A special meeting of the board was held at the Pukerumu schoolroom on the 27th inst. Present : Messrs! J. G. Gane (chairman), H. Kusabs, A. Wallace, Robert Fisher and E. Allen. ! Tho business 6f ; ;the meeting was to confirm the resolution of 2lith November re making a general rate of g of a penny in the £ for the year 1880 and 1887. It was resolved that the! resolution be confirmed, and that the rate'be'payable in one sum on the 31st March ;to the collector, Mr Hugh Fitzgerald, at his residence, Fairview,Cambridge, or on demand. The ordinary meeting was then held, the same members being present. A circular was received from the Resident Engineer re drain at Ohaupo, and saying the request to remove the stump 3 would be attended to. Mr T. G..J3a,ndes wrote in reply ro dedicating and gazetting road. Deferred for the present. The secretary was instructed to write to the Resident Engineer asking permission to remove some clay at the Ohaupo station for use on the road along side the railway. It was resolved that tenders be invited from persons willing to supply for service of the trustees when required, a man, horse and dray at per day of eight hours ; for keeping the various district roads in repair for one year, viz.: Ohaupo station road,' Te Rore road, Alexandra road, Mystery Creek road, Watson's road, Bell's road, and Pukekura road. The contractor to find security. Accounts amounting to £43 2s were passed for payment and the board adjourned. ;' _^_
