Tisza, president of the Hungarian Council of Ministers, was to-day presented with a New Year address by a number of Liberal deputies, and in replying he said the Austro-Hungurian Government would strive for peace provided the honour and interests of the Empire were not menaced. Cairoa, January 1. Count Daunay, French diplomatic agent, at a reception to-day, stated that France would not allow her interests in Egypt to be endangered, and had decided to take, measures accordingly.
