THE PEACE OF EUROPE.
(BY TELEGRAPH.-COPYRIGHT.) [KRUXKn'S TELEGRAMS.] (Received December 3rd, 1 a.m.) Parih, January 2. Mk Goblet, President of the Council of Ministers, replying to a deputation of brokers stated that France wants peace and lie believed in upholding the same, but Government viewed the possibility of war calmly. President Grevy receiving the members of the Diplomatic body, yesterday, expressed himself confident of the maintenance of the peace of Europe. Bcda-Pkhth, January 1. M. Tisza, president of the Hungarian Council of Ministers, was to-day presented with a New Year address by a number of Liberal deputies, and in replying he said the Austro-Hungurian Government would strive for peace provided the honour and interests of the Empire were not menaced. Cairoa, January 1. Count Daunay, French diplomatic agent, at a reception to-day, stated that France would not allow her interests in Egypt to be endangered, and had decided to take, measures accordingly.
