[BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRKSPONDKNT.] Karangahake. Pakroa, Monday. Egmont Mine: The prospecting drive is now in 225 ft. on the line of reef and 45ft. distant from the Crown. The manager is lending one ton of ore as a trial to Firth's battery, Waiorongomai. A party of expert Ohinemun prospectors are under engagement to a syndicate in Fiji to prospect that place. The following mail contractors have started on their duties :—Bradley and Co., Thames and Paeroa; E. Gallagher, Te Aroha and Paeroa; F. Cuminings, OwharoaWaitekauri and Owharoa-Waihi; J. Kerry, Tauranga and Paeroa ; Ed. Edwards, Paeroa and Karangahake. The newly-gazetted mining regulations are generally regarded here us being carefully compiled, and give general satisfaction.
