[IIEUrER'S TKLEGHAMS.] London, December 20. Sir F. J. Garrick is pressing Mr Stanhope to mention definite acceptable conditions with regard to the administration of l\'ew Guinea. The homeward mails per Orient's Garonne, frwm Melbourne on November 12, were delivered in London to-d.iy. The Agents-General of the Australian colonies have unitedly expressed themselves in favour of the 13nglu.h and French Governments assuming a joint juiisdiction over the New Hebrides. The agreement for the widening of the S-iez Canal has been concluded, and Btron De Lesseph is at present m Egypt, making arrangements for carrying out the work. The width of the canal from Port Said to the Bittern Lakes will be 34 metres, thence to Suez 65 metres. Paris, December 20. A Madagascar loan has been contracted with the Comptier de Paris on the security of the Customs revenue of that island.
