RULES.
Three hoses to start or no race. All protests to be sent in in writing to the Secretary fifteen miuutes after race. Accompanied with ]os. 6d. same to be forfeited to the race funds if protest be not sustained. Decision of Stewards to be final Second horse to save stakes in each event except Pony and Selling Hack Race. Qualification fee 10s 6d. Nominations for all han Heaps, with necessary cash, to be made with the secretary at Otorohanga, or J. W. Ellis Ksq , Kihikihi, on or before 8 p.m. on Thursday, the 23rd inst. Acceptances not later than 12 a.m. on day of races. All other events post entries. Weights to appear in Tub Wukato Times on Tuesday, 28th inst.
There will be a dance in the hall in the evening, to commence at 8 o'clock. Good accomodation for visitors. W.m. SEAUANCKK, Hon. Sec.
RULES AND CONDITIONS.
All Races to be run in colours, and three horses to start or no race. All disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing to be decided by a majority of the Stewards present or those whom they may appoint, and their decision t»hall be final. Protests must be made iv writing and given to the Secietary, accompanied by a deposit of £1, within 20 minutes from the conclusion of the race disputed, such deposit to be forfeited to the racing fund should the Stew aids consider the protest frivolous or vexatious. Five per centum will be deducted from the winnings in iNos. 1, 3, and 5 races, where the winneis are not members of the Matamata Racing Club, such moneys deducted to go to the racing funds. Auckland Racing Club rules will be adhered to.
Notice-
An excursion train will leave Hamilton for the racecourse at 9 oO n.m. on the day of the races, calling at all intermediate stations ami connecting at Rualuira with the 9. 13 o.iii ordinary train from Cam bridge, and at Momnswlle with the 8.20 ordinary train from Te Aroha, arriving at Matamata at 11,45 a.m., Wving again on the return journey at 0.'20 p.m., and connecting with the afternoon tnios for Te Aroha and Camlnidge. Saturday return fares will be charged. This will give the public a splendid opportunity tor a run into the country, a view of the picturesque scenery of the Thames Valley, the new ami tin i\ mg settlement of Waharoa, the U'airiri Waterfall, and the celebrated Hot Springs of Matamata. Mr \V. T. Firth has made arrangements with Mr Carter to run a coach to the hot springs from the railway station. The Te Aroha Brass Band will be in attendance. Luncheon and all kinds of refreshments supplied on the course in his u-ual magnificent style by that Piince of Caterers, Frank Rose, of Oxford. I. HOPKINS, Secretary Matamata Racing Club.
