Mkssrs W. J. HuntkrandCo. report :— At Cambridge on Saturday, December 11th, there was only a small muster of cattle, soino fair dairy cows sold well, only a limited number of boef sold. There was a full yard of horses, which sold better than for some time past, bidding was brisk, and about 30 changed hands also lot saddlery, &c. At Ohaupo on Tuesday, again a very large number of cattlo wore yarded, mostly rough sorts. A full market of dairy cows sold at fair prices, young cattle were dull of sale unless of choice quality. There was a good demand for fresh steers, also grazing cows and spayed heifers which sold well, only a few beef sold to the trade. A large number of sheep yarded, and all sold as follows:— Merino ewes and lambs, 8s per couple ; 1607 4 and 6-tooth Napier wethers., 7s to 7s 9d ; fat ewes, 5s 3d to 8a ; dairy cows, £3 10s to £5 10s ; choice yearling 3teers, £1 17s (id to £2 7s 6d ; ordinary, from £1 5s to £1 15s ; lh to 24-year-old steers, £2 to £2 15s ; 3-year" old, steers, £3 to £3 15s ; fresh empty cows and heifers, nearly beef, £2 17s Cd to £3 Us ; yearling heifert, £1 to £1 7s Gd ; 2-year-old heifers, £1 10.s to £1 10s ; fat cows and heifers, £3 to £4 5s each. Messrs Alfred Buckland and Co. Re-pout.-At Cambridge on Saturday last, at the special sale of cows for the Auckland Agricultural Company we had a good attendance of buyers from all parts of the district, and the cattle being of exceptionally good quality, bidding was very spirited after the first few pens were sold. Prices were : 13 cows, £2 lls ; 14 ditto, £2 10s ; 10 ditto, £1 ; 11 ditto, £1 2s Cd ; 14 ditto, £2 17s ; 15 ditto, £3 4s ; 13 ditto, £2 lls ; 20 ditto, £2 19s ; 19 ditto, £2 17s 6d ; 7 ditto, £3 10a . 1G ditto, £3 ; 16 ditto, £2 12s ; 15 ditto, £3 ; 15 ditto, £2 16s ; 19 ditto, £3 2sGd. During the week we have sold privately, 25 Hereford cows in calf and with calf at foot, at £3 ; Hereford bull at £17 ; 330 ewes and lambs at 6a 3d each ; 450 ditto at 6s each.
