Kihikihi C.C. v. Paterangi C.C.

This match was played at Kihikihi on Saturday last, and resulted in a victory for the visitors by 51 runs. Mr Bond won the toss, and elected to field. The first venture of the Paterangi men only roalised 24, which looked rather healthy for Kihikihi ; but when the last of the local team's wickets fell for 22, the game seemed more even. When Paterangi again went to the wickets they put together the respectable total of 70,. of which Mr Crooks made 10 (not out) in fine style. Mr Soper batted well for Kihikihi, who, in their second venture, were dismissed for 20. For Paterangi Mr Crooks took 10 wickets for 15 runs, and Mr McFarlane 9 for 17, four of which he bowled with four successive balls. Messrs Bond and Case bowled well for Kihikihi.
