Hamilton C.C. v. Tuhikaramea C.C

This match was played on Sydney Square, Hamilton, on Saturday, and was won by the local team with eight wickets to spare. The \isitm» going in first, were all out for .11, to which Mr Shepherd contributed 11, and extras no les-3 th«in 19. Hamilton made 54 in their first innings, Messrs Browning and Barton ha\ ing the only double figures, 2S and 11 respectively. Tnhikaramea's second innings realised 43, Mr W. Reid heading the score with 11. Hamilton made the required 41 runs with the loss of two wickets, Mr Browning contributing 10, and Messr-, Stevens and Byng being not out with 19 and 6 respectively to their credit. Messrs Swanson and W. Reid shared the Hamilton wickets while Mr Stevens in the Ist, and Mr Browning in the 2nd innings were too much for the strangers. The Hamilton analysis reads as follows : — Mr Stevens 65 balls, 2 maidens, 6 wickets for 23 runs and 8 wide* ;Mr Byng 43 balls, 7 maidens, 1 wicket for 4 runs and 1 no ball ; Mr Browning 82 balls, 5 maiden*, 9 wicket-, for 24 uins, and 1 wide ; Mr Yon Stunner 40 balls, 1 maidens, 2 wickets for 17 runs. For Tuhikaramea Mr Swan^on bowled 104 balN, 2 maidens, for 5 wickets at the cost of 45 runs and 2 wides ; Mr S. Reid 3(5 balls, 1 maiden for 19 runs ; Mr W. The return match will be played in one ot Mr Vickers paddocks at Tuhikaramea, on Saturday week the 18th inst., when Tuhikaramea ought to have a good chance of rerersing fortune's decision on Saturday last.
