WESTERN MAORI ELECTION. [ BY TELEGRAPH— PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wanganui, Thursday.
HOANR Taipua (Otaki)t laurua (Patea), Henare Kaihau (Wr.iuku), Wireinu Te Wheoro, and Sydney Taiwhang.v, were today nominated for the Western Maori district. The show of hands was in favour of Hoane, and a poll was demanded by Te Wheoro. The election takes place on the 23rd instant In addressing the electors, Taiwhanga promised not to accept the honorarium if elected.
