PUKETE
A MERTING of the District School Committee was held here on Monday, 29th inst., to make further arrangements conoei ning the proposed school library. A sum of £7 was handed in, Jfc!3 of which has been con tributed by parents and fj lends in the district ; the remainder being collected trom outside friends by Mrs Hinton. The com mittec decided to refer a list of books to the Board of Education for approval, and to enquire if the board would make the customary grant. The warmest thanks of the committee are tendered to Mis Hintcn for her untiring zeal in collecting, also to Capt. Steele and those other friends who have so liberally contributed gifts of books and money to supply a much felt want in this district. — (C< )
