AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKETS.
Mk Alkked Buckland's W»:kly Rkport. — At the Hay market on Friday, No\ ember, oats ranged from 2s 5d to 2s !)d ; inaue, 3s 4d ; barley, 3s 3d per bushel. Manures are selling in considerable quant'ties, varying with quality from £X to £8 10s the ton. Fodder was brought forward in less than the usual quantity, and there was no alteration from last week's values. Horse stock were in full numbers, between 70 and 80 sold at the auction ; prices for the greater number ranged between £3 and £8, a few bringing from £9 to £20 respectively. On Tuesday hides were m usual number and late values ; best quality at 4d the lb ; tallow, 12s the cwt.; pelts and sheepskins from 10s to 4s lOd each. At Remnera, on Thursday, dairy cattle were dull of sale, choice animals selling about £5 each, Store cattle, in usual supply, were at late values. Fat cattle, in usual numbers, barely maintained last week's values ; prices ranged from 15s to 19s the lOOlbs. Fat sheep in moderate supply, maintained, late prices. Lambs very numerous, were at last week's values at first, but fell as the sale proceeded, until good lambs sold at 5s and b's each ; prices ranged from is to 9-i. Calves and pigs at late \aluos. Mcnsiw Hunter and Nolans Weekly REPORf. — Horses: The supply has again been large, and a good many have been disposed of at about the previous week's values, although in some instances that could not be reached. The Durham Yards were crammed on Friday, and competition was steady. Many of the lots were cleared, but for the remainder reserves could not be reached. We quote : hacks, at from £9 to £18 ; light harness horses, £9 to £10 ; draughts £13 to £25. Wool, hides and skins : There was a large mn«ter of hides at the Durham Yards on Tuesday, but as a rule the quality was not good. For heavy ox hides the highest bid was 4d per lb ; medium, 3d to 3kl ; cow, fiom 2d to 2^d per lb. There was a laivc muster of which sold .it trom !-> 3d to •!-> fed each. The fir^t wool sale w>h held at the Durham wool loft on Wednesday, when 230 packages were disposed of. TLere was a good attendance of buyers aud spinted competition throughout the sale. Longwool, in grease, sold at from (>^d to 7£d ; crossbred, from 4d to 7|d per lb. Cattle : Extreme dullness has characterised the market. The number brought forward is below the average, as holders are indisposed to sell at present rates, and yet there was no disposition on the part of would-be buyers to advance, consequently the cargo ex Hauraki was withdrawn. At the Newmarket sale on Tuesday, dairy stock was iv adequate supply and steady demand at the previous week's values ; but few stores were yarded, values unaltered. Sheep : There was but a moderate muster at Newmarket on Tuesday, but prices had no upward tendency. Wethers sold at from 9s to lls Gd ; ewes from 7s 9d to 8s 6d. Lambs in adequate numbers, and sold at 5s 9d to 103. Pigs were sufficient for requirements ; good porkers sold well, but coarse animals were relatively lower in value.
