Clould, in his address referred to the f.ict that altnough theie was a market at Fiji for our produce, very little is sent there. The Fiji butter, cheese, hams and bacon all come from Europe, and potatoes, beer and horse feed from Sydney, yet they could all be supplied cheaper from New Zealand. The committee had not seen their way to contribute the sum asked for the proposed wool and grain shows. It had been surested that it would be advantageous to the mercantile community to extend the u*efulne»s of the Chamber if exchange fitting were held. He mo\ed in that direc tion. It \va>* resohed that it was durable that exchange meetings bo held daily.
