SING ME A SONG OF THE OLDEN TIME.

SiNO me a song of the olden time— 11 Highland Laddie " and " Bonny Boon ;" Sing to me how in the fading light, For my heart goes back to my youth nightSing me some dear old tune. And I will dream as I hear your voice, Sweet and tender, and strong and dear, Like your mother's voice, when these songs she sung, Long ago when we both were young- 1 You are so like her, dear. Take down her harp and touch the strings ; Too long, too long have they silent been. My heart has been full of hurry and strife And the care and worry of active life— I long for the songs again. Sing "Ye banks and braes of Bonny Doon ;" Your mother sang that song to you While she rucked you there on her breast to sleep. Dear little daughter do not weep— Sing me the old songs, too. Sing " Logan Water " and "Land o' the Leal," " Annie Liurie " and " Banks 'o Dee ;" Dear old songs that we never forget, Over my heart they are echoing yet— She sang them all to me. No music ever so sweet can be As the tuneful lays of the days of yore Sung by mother and snter and wife ; And now, by child, in latter life I would hear theao song* ones more, So sing me a son? of the olden time — " Highlan 1 Laddy " or " Bonny Doon." Sing me a song in the fading light, For my heart goes back to ray youth nightSing me some dear old tune.— Abba Kinne.
