ACCIDENTS AND OFFENCES. [BY TELEGRAPH.— OWN CORRESPONDENTS.]
Invkucumiill, Fridry. As passengers by the nioining train on the northern line, wore passing through Makarewa bush, this morning, they saw a man hanging from a tree. Thin proved to be a settler named Michael Crowe who lately went through the Bankruptcy Court, ati'i had sought refuge from his troubles in suicide. A young married man named Fred. H. Dale, employed for some yearn as a letter carrion, was charged at the Police Court today with stealing letters con tun in-,' three one pound bank notes, and icmanded for eight day*. Accused, who is well known from his connection with the Oldftllowa and Volunteers, admitted the otfenco to the postmaster and police.
Blenheim, Fiiddv. Last night a young man named John Hawkins was thrown from his horso in Lower High street, receiving injuries to hin head from which he died three hours afterwards. An old resident of Oxford, named Isaac Bryan, met with an accident yi*>terday while fellinsf a tree, find died to-day. His chest was crushed by a f<illi:>y br.mcii.
