The following balance-sheets were laid on the table of the council at the last meeting :—: — 1 Statement ok Rkckipts and EXPENDITURE IN THE GENERAL ACCOUNT FOR Half-year ending 30 m September, 1886. Receipts.— Cash on hand 31st March, 18.%, £47 14s Od; rates received to 30th September, £141 19s 9d ; licenses—publicans, £100; transfers., £2; auctioneers, £10 10s ; hawkers, £2 ; dug registration, £3 10s ; endowment rent-., £29 4s 4d ; miscellaneous sources, £4 ; Government subsidy under Local Bodies Finance and Powers Act, £202 5b 3d ; contractors deposits, t'3 ; advanced from loan special fund account to pay off overdraft in torms of loan, £313 8s 9d ; amount over-doposited in item, £1099, September 20th, whh-h included a sum of £18, cost of debentmes and exchange, and was drawn from the loan account when it had already been deducted by the Government, £5982 being the amount handed to the borough instead of £0000. The £18 will be found to be refunded to the loan account on 20th October, 1886— £18 ; total, £997 12s lOd.
