He had previously stated that he had sworn falsely under the inducement of another young man named Hllesmeie Goodwin, who wanted to clear hims'.lf of responsibility in an affiliation case.
OAMARU, Monday. A man named Jolin Aleberly, engaged at lledcastle, made a deliberate attempt to commit (>uicidc by cutting his throat with a razor yesterday. He is in a critical state and is to be removed to the hospital.
GRRYMOUTH, Monday. The Mawhpra's position has not: altered since she wont ashore, except that she hea at a greater ang'e to sea. All the carpo was landed in good condition early on Saturday afternoon. Efforts are to be made on the arrival of the underwriters' representative to launch her. The weather is very fine.
