Ta Aw'AMuru, Friday. Mr C. W. L\NT..STON'k" was brought up today before Me-srs J. H. Mandeno ami W. Taylor, under a warrant charged with forgery at Auckland. On the application of Constable Ryan, the Bench remanded the ptisonor to Auckland. He was also charged with obtaining goods to the amount of £2 7-> from Mr W. James, of the Conmierei i! Hotel, under false pietences. For this charge he was sentenced to two nu>nth^ haul labour. It appears ho represented to Mr James that he had an account at tlie Bank of New Zealand at Russell, but Mr Jamc->' suspicions being aroused 1k i in idenquiries, and found the prison*)- h vi ii') account, as stated. He therefore laid tho information against him.
