PRESBYTERIAN ART UNION.

The drawing for the prizes in the art union, in aid of the Presbyterion Chr.ich funds took phice in the Public Hall last night There was a very large attendance of ticketholders and their friends, and the greatest interest was manifested in the proceedings. His Worship the Mayor provided, and the drawing was canied out by a committee consisting of Messrs C. Gasmen, T. G. Sandes, A. Primrose. Henry and Cochrane. The drawing which occupied about an hour, occuned without a single hitch. The priz3s wero on view during the d.iy and evening, and elifited much favourable comment. The buggy and the harness were excellent speci mens of workmanship. Tho buggy wa> from the factory of Mr Cochr.vne, and the harnosa was made by Mr Reid, man.iger of Mr Peat's Hamilton East establishment The other prizes were also beautiful and valuable. To-day, at 2 o'clock, Mr John Knox will hold a Uruce Auction at tho Hamilton Mart, when a laijre assortment of useful articles, ransfinp: from pet lambs to baby's underlinen, and including exotics, prize sheep, pisf^, poultry, butter (in crocks), and an mmieiiie assortment of sundries, ton muneious to particularise will ba offered. The proceeds are to be devoted to tho Clnirch fund*.
