The Union Company's Mawhera is ashore at Nortli Beach, «a little above the North Mole. She had taken the tu£ about S o'clock this morning, thiee hour.s before high tide, ami \v.i.s un her way in when, by Mime iiii-eli vice ni-t known, she went ashore. The tu^ was m the channel at the time, but it is suppo^d that the Mavhira \va< not, and after she got aground two ropes broke. The weather was fine, and the bar quite smooth at the time. Theie i-> no d.mper to the passenpeis, there beirip no soa whatewi. The !\[.iwheia lies mwch nearer the North Mole than the Wull.ibi.
