CAMBRIDGE DISTRICT SCHOOL
, : / Annual Examination* The returns of the' late standard examination by Mr Fiilei* having 'come to hand, we are enabled to publish the results. The number of pupils presented for examination was 140, of whom 115 passed, making a percentage of 84 "5. This is not so high as last year, the petcentage being then ( J3. The results this year may, however, be looked upon as highly satisfactory, taking into consideration the fact thfttan epidemic of 4 whooping cough prevailed for a considerable time, and the teaching staff has been several times changed. A further change has jmt taken place, Mr G. Hill having been removed ; and we learn the board do not intend reiplacing him at present. No doubt the pupils have much to thank the headmaster, Mr Stewart, 8.A., and the efficient staff 'of teachers employed for the unremitting care and attention bestowed on them. We append the percentage of passes during the past fi ve years : —
