Thk Chief of the Metropolitan Police ha* written to the promoters of the projected Socialist demonstration on the occasion of the Lord Mayor's Show, on the ninth prox., stating that the proposed procession will provoke £ios-; disorder, and piobably endanger hf«. The authorities lie Bay I *, will hold the Socialists lesponsible for any consequences resulting from the projected procession.
