(KKLTKU'-. IKLKGIUM.) Son v, October 11. The flections for the Grand Sobranje, or National Assembly for the choice of a Prince of Bulgaria, commenced yesterday throughout the country. At one of the polling [daces in this city a body of l."> 0 peasants, acting under the initiative of M. Xeklinotf', the Russian Consul, attempted to obstruct the proceedings. A serious conflict resulted between the adherents of the Regency and the supporters of the Consul, and in the melee many persons were wounded. The disturbance assuming the character of a riot, the gendarmerie were called out and the rioters were dispersed. The Government party are securing a crushing victory at the elections, and will hive a very large majority in the Sobranje. The Russian Consuls in the principal tow ns in the province have been endeavouring to prevent the elections proceeding.
London, October 11. The Bulgarian elections have resulted as follows :— Supporters of the Regency, 490 ; M. Zankoff, the man who proclaimed the deposition ot Prince Alexander, only secured 21 followers.
Sofia, October 11. M. NeklinofF, the Russian Consul in Sofia, in obedience to the commands of General Kaulbars, lias given formal notice to the Bulgarian. Government that the elections for the Great iSobranje are illegal and \ alueless. He has further protested against the rioting which has recently taken place and the treatment which his supporters received at the hands of the adherents of the Regency.
