Sydney', October 9. In the Legislative Council last night the City Railways Bill was shelved. The conference for discussing matters relating to live stock was concluded yesterday. The committee recommended that the restriction now placed on the importation of stock into the colonies should be removed.
October 10. During the discussion on the Divorce ]>ill in the Assembly yesterday morning another scene occurred in the anteroo*», whereby Mr. Lysight .struck Mr. Gibbs. Further blows were prevented by members present. The Wairarapa arrived to-day.
October 10. The Massilia arrived here last night.
Mkluourxk, October 9. The proposal to conclude a reciprocity treaty between Fiji and Victoria has been under consideration by the Cabinet, and has been favourably viewed. Further communications with Fiji, however, are deemed necessary before coming to a final decision on the subject.
