|BT TRLKQRAPH— OWN COUREBPONDBNT.I " One More Unfortunate." Auckland, Monday Night. A WOMAN named Mary Robinson, known to the police as a drunkard, has been found drowned.
The Woollen Mills. A large party of gentlemen, representing the commercial interests of the city left town by special train at 2 o'clock this afternoon for Onehunga to witness the laying of the foundation stone of the first woollen mills in the province. Sir G. Maurice O'Rorke performed the interesting ceremony. The company which is a strong nnd influential one, entered upon its career with vigour and enterprise that promise successful results, and so far everything hah gone on well with them. The mills will be similar to those at Mosgiel, a kind of quadrilateral of single htorey buildings, submounted by a tall chimney stack. As soon as the mills aro up and the machinery in situ operations will be actively commenced, and the industry is sure to have an important influence on the futuie of Auckland.
