New South Wales v. Auckland.

The third and final football match be tween the New South Wales team and Auckland was played on Dilworth's ground on Saturday afternoon, and ended in another vicory for the local team, who pcored 11 points (a goal and three tries) to Sydney's four points (a goal from the field). There was a pood attendance of about 2000 spectators, but not .so many as witnes«,ed the two previous matches. Auckland had much the best of the play in the first half of the game, and scored nine points, but during the second term the New South Wales had the pull of the game, and succeeded in forcing the local team down on five occasion^, and also kicked a goal from a mark, but unfortunately this g.i\e rise to Kiurio doubt in regard to the reading of the rules, and the kick at goal was taken under protest. On referring to the rules after the game the score was found to be quite correct. In the second term the ciowd did not express general satisfaction at the try claimed by a local player, and the Auckland captain geacefully waived his right to it. In the evening the visitors were entertained at a dance given in their honour in the Freemasons' Hall. — Herald.
