Fat c.itlle in less than usual number met with a dull sale, prices iangmg from lGs to 18s the lOOlbs. Fat calves in brisk demand at extreme values. A moderate market of fat sheep fully maintained last week's advance. Lambs were plentiful ; prices ranged from (5s 6d to 13a (id, averaging about 10s each. Pigs in limited number sold freely at a slight advance over Lite m.ukets. There was a good market at the Durham Yards last Fiid.iy, competition being steady for hoi sos of a good stamp. Wool, hides, skins and tallow : A good number of hides weic pitched, but principally of inferior quality. Hides of good quality sold fieely. Wo quote: Damaged hides from 1 ',rl to 2\d per lb, cow hides 3{d, ov hides, 3}<lto3;d, heavy ok hides *2lis Gd each, sheepskins Is 7d to 4s Id, tallow 14s per cwt. Cattle : The number offered for sale during thn week has been over an average one, and prices scarcely maintained last week's values. The pens at Newmarket woie well filled with fat blasts on Tuesday, competition was spirited, and prices ruled at from 18s to 21s per lOOlbs ; fat steers ranging fiom £(> to £i), f,it cows from £."> 5«, to fcS.
