Tiik New Zcahnd Insurance Company's agency have received ;i telegiam from their Napier branch, stating that the vessel reported to he bottom up on the rocks at Mahia, Hawke's Bay, is the schooner Scluptara, timber laden, from the Thames to Lyttelton. .She was owned by Mr C W. Turner, of Christehuteh, and was built in Auckland in J SOS, is SS tons register, aud has recently been put in effective order under Lloyd's surveyor As no mention is nude ot the captain and ciew, it is ieaiud all are lost, bhe was commanded by Ciptaui fieilman, with J. Williams a* mate, and a crew of four men. The hull is, insured for J. 750 in the New Zealand office, and thecirgo for between £200 and £300. The^e lines are partly reinsured. As confirmatory of the telegrams announcing the rhe in wool, it may be mentioned that advices to hand state that the wool clip of Lieut. -Col. Toswill, of Kirwee, has been sold at an average of Is 'J^d per Ib.
