FIRE NEAR FRANKTON.

At about 3 o'clock yesteiday aftminun tin 1 house of Mr Dellicar, fanner, situated on the old Whatauhata load, about a mile from Frankton was totally destroyed by fire. Mis Dellicar, who was lying asleep on a sofa, had a very narrow escape. We regiet to learn that beaicely any of the furniture <-n effects were saved. Air Dcllicnr's son lost a valuable kit of tools, worth of £30, and it is also reported that 50 or (10 bushels of seed oat& have also been destroyed. Mr Dcllicu has a large family of young children, and these have in the meantime taken lefnge with their neighbours, Messrs Dinsdaleand Maunder. Some time a^ r o the fire policy in the Colonial Jtisuiance Company w.is allowed to lapse. Much .sympathy is felt for Mr Dellicar, as he has proved himself a hard- working and industrious settler.
