WAIKATO LIVK STOCK MARKETS. Messus Alfrkd Bucklano* Co. report.— On Saturday, at the Bazaar, we had a g.iod sale of produce and hordes, and have still an un>at^fied demand for good oaton chatf, and could place at tho present time 10 tons of good quality. Horses were in demand of good sort. We quote : Good draughts at £19 15s, £2110 a, and £22 ; light draughts at from £10 to £15 ; and ordinary riding at from £6 to £8 ; good riding at <Jl2 ; and inferior sorts at £3. Cattle: The yards were well filled with cattle of all descriptions, and many sold at fair value. We quote : Good dfciry cows at £4 ; springing heifers, £4; empty cows, £2 ; yearling heifers, £1 ss; eighteen months old at £2; eighteen months steers, £2 ; 2i year-old steers, £2 7s 6d ; fat cows, £4 to £5 10a j store wethers passed at 9s (id.

LONDON MARKETS. London, September i). -The weekly returns of the bank of England, published today, show the proportion of the reserve to liabilities to be 47 per cent., and total rpserve in notes and bullion to be £12,200,000. —The market rate of discount is 2£ per cent., or 3 below the minimum bank rate.— xVt the Colonial wool sales to-day 12,000 bales were offered. The market remains firm with an active demand.
