—Mr Walt Whitman is preparing for the press a volume of prose and verse, entitled " November Boughs." Some of the pieces to be included have recently appeared in various periodicals. — It is said that Mr Browning will probably publish separately the two poems of which the next volume was to consist, and that one, which is a new departure on Mr Browning's part, may, perhaps, be out iv time for the holidays. — .Although the edition of the Colonial and Indian Exhibition Supplement to the Holiday (July) Art Journal was an extremely large one, it was entirely subscribed for in the trade by the day of publication. A new edition is in the press. — Mrs Henry Ward Beecher has promised to furnish The Brooklyn Magazine with a series of " Letters from England '' during her sojourn abroad. The "letters" will consist of impressions of persons, places, and incidents which may come under Mrs Beecher's observation. — Pirated editions do not always prove the most popular in America. Out of eleven thouwaud copies of Mr Grant Allan's recent novel, •• Maimie'a Sake," which have been sold there, nearly seven thousand were issued by Messrs Appleton in their authorised addition, although it cost considerably more than the only other in the market, that brought out by the house of Munro, which does not pay a royalty to the author. — A new renture in technical journalism has appeared in Manchester, under the title of " Industries." It will j appear every week, and the price is nixpence. Judging- from the first number we should say that it has every chance of succean. The engineering, electrical, chemical, and other departments of manufactures are well represented, the trade reports are from widely distant centren, and the typographical and general get-up of the journal are highly creditable. — The volume of Shelley's " Essays and Letters," announced to appear at the end of July in the " Comelot Classic.*, 1 ' has been unavoidably postponed for a month, in order to include certain copyright matter which the editor him received permnsion from Sir Percy Shelley to make use of. Instead of it will be given a volume of Sir Thomas Brown's works, including the Religio Medici, easay on Urn Burial, &c, edited with an introduction, Mr J. Addington Symonds.
