WAITETUNA.
Thr weather has been exceptionally wot nnd cold during tho last month. On Friday evening last ther» wan a bitterly cold wind blowing from the tumth, and on Saturday morning snow could bo plainly HOOii on the Karioi mountain, which is a very rare occurrence. At a meeting of the Whaingaroa Domain Board on Saturday last it was agreed to lease the hot Rprin^s reserve. The Rev. Mr Boler, of Te Awamutn, held divine service in the Waitetuna Bchool-room on Sunday, 29th tilt. There was a good congregation considering the weather and the condition of the road*. Miss Wallis kindly took Miss Moon's place at the harmonium, in the absence of the latter lady. The same gentleman held divine service at Te Mata and Raglin the same day. Mr Bolor will be in this district again at the litter end of next month. It i» to be hoped that he will have more favourable weather than he has
had for his 6rst visit. The peach and the early plum trees are coming out in flower, and the willow trees are putting forth their leaves, which show us that spring has come at ltst.— (A Correspondent, September 3rd, 1886.)
