A DISAPPOINTED BRIDE.

William Evans, farm labourer, wns, at the last Montgomershire assizes, indicted for making a false declaration in connection with a supposed marriage at Welshpool. He had arranged to marry a young woman, and on May 11th arrived at the registrar's office, Welsh pool, just to late for th« performance of the ceremony. The prisoner, it appeared, asked the younpr woman for the ring, saying that he wanted to show it to some friends, and after making an arrangement to meet on the following morning, they separated. Early the next morning the prisoner appeared at the Registry office with another woman, with whom he went through the form of marriage, and -she signed the register in the other woman's name. Later on the first woman appeared with her mother, to find her false suitor had already been married, and had left the town. The judge sentenced him to 12 months' hard labour.
