In the second heat Bubear got the best of the. start, but fouled Beach directly after getting away, and although tho latter-, right rowlock was injured by the foul ho managed to win easily. The course was between Wandsworth and Hammersmith. The heat between \fafcterson and Teenier was rowed between Hammersmith and Kew.J Mntterson gained a lead of a length, taking Temner'a water, but the latter spurted, and rowed Matterson down just below Barnes. Matterson then collapsed. In the final heat Beach took the lead, sculling at a high-presaure speed, Teemer being nowhere. Beach stopped at Mortlake and waved his cap. The course was from Putney to Mortlake, and the race was witnessed by an immense crowd.
