CAMBRIDGE DOMAIN BOARD.

A. meeting of the Cambridge Domain Board was held at the board's office, Cambridge, on Saturday afternoon. Present : Messrs T. Wells (chairman), John Fisher, and E. ' ' ' \ Mr Thomas Freeman wrote stating that the grass had run out on the paddock rented by him on the recreation ground, and the paddock was consequently of no use to him. He offered a rental of 620 for next year provided he was allowed to plough the land and take a crop off it. Mr Hewitt said it was a fair offer, and Mr Freeman was a good tenant and a man wpith, considering. The Chairman said they should fully iotisider the question before deciding. If they did not accept this offer they would require to call for tenders, or lay the land down in grass' themselves. After some discusson it was resolved to accept Mr Freeman's offer subject to the condition that one crop of oats bo taken off the land, after which the grpund , , to <, be pr.opejrly prepared fend sown with 'an approved mixture of grass and clover seed not later than the 31st March, 1887. The preparation and sowing to be done to the satisfaction of the board. Mr R. Wright applied for permission to transfer his lease of section No. 11 to Mr G. Weyman. Mr W. Moon applied to transfer section No. 09, Cambridge West, to Mr W. Sooker, and Nos. 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6to Mr Henry Moon. The board had no objections to the transfers. The Chairman said this matter was practically in the hands of the Tojyn Board, but Mr Hpwitt, speaking as a member of the Town Board, said the fault lay with the chairman for not claimjng the money within eight days after the impounding. After some little argument the matter,dropped, Two small accounts were passed for payment, J. Rivers £1 Is, and W. Souter 43, and the meeting terminated.
