Thk final cricket match, Australians v. All Kngliind, commenced to-day at Ketmington Oval. The interest taken in the match was veiy great, and the attendance of .spectators was enormous. The weather vms Hue. An excellent wicket was pitched, and the ground was in first-rate order. The Home team is composed as follow* : — W.G. Grace (Gloucester), W. W. Keed (Surrey), A. G. Steele (Lancashire), X R S. Tylecote (Herts), K. G. Barton (Lancashire), W. Barnes (Notts), J. Brigs* I Lancashire), G. Lohmann (Surrey), W. Scotton (Notts), A. Shiew>bnry (Notts), and G. Ulyett (Yorkshire), being the same as in the second match. Tholiomo team went in first to the wickets, Grace and Scotton being fir.st to bat. A dotorminrd stand was made, Scotton putting together 34 before being disposed of. Shrewsbury joined Grace, who was batting splendidly. A magnificent exhibition of cricket was made, Grace scoring 170 before going out. Head succeeded Grace, and with Shrewsbury continued at the wicket until the stumps were drawn for the day, the Englishmen having lost two wickets for 271) runs.
