MONDAY. In the Legislative Council, the Coal Mines Bill was read a third tune and passed. The debate on the question that the Civil Service Reform Bill be read a. second time, to which an uinendment was moved by Dr Pollen, that the bill be read that day six months, was resumed. Alter discussion, the motion for the second reading was earned. Ayes, 21 ; noes, 13. The First Offences Probation Bill was read a second time. The Government Loans to Local Bodies Bill was further amended in committee. Progress was reported, and the Council adjourned till next day.
