HAMILTON DOMAIN BOARD.

The adjourned meeting 1 of the Hamilton Domain Board was held last night. Present : Messrs W. A. Graham (chairman), Tippen, Edgecumbe, Barton, and Scott. The connnittee appointed to inspect the lands requiring drainage reported that levels would require to be taken before any definite scheme could be proposed, and recommended that Mr Sandea should be employed to take levels, which would enable them to suggest the works necessary to be undertaken. The committee appointed to arrange with MrSandes for undertaking the duties of engineer to the board reported that they had received an otfor from Mr Sandes to undertake the duties at the r.xte of £1 la per day, and 6s per day for labour, except in the case when a chainman would be required, for which service 8s per day would be allowed. The report was received and adopted. The Chairman moved that the committee appointed to .see about the drainage works should be requoted to report upon the advisability of opening up a new road from the river bank, tluvugh lot 10!>, the market reserve, and lot 453, to connect with Hillstreet, which would prove an outlet for drainage, and give a road tnut would enable cattle to be driven from or to Ohiiipo from the Whatawhata or Newcastle districts without passing through the borough. {Seconded by Mr Tippen and canied. After small accounts were passed for payment and the board adjourned till Monday, August 2nd.
