London, July 2. The fruit by the Chimborazo has arrived in pi or condition. The San Francisco people are agitating in the matter of getting the Government to grant a »üb»idy for a line of steamers trading to Australia. The Australasian Ice and Cold .Storage Company has been registered with a capital of £100,000. A grand review and sham fight took place to-day at Alder«hot, 15,000 troops of various branches ot the service being in the field. The Queen and most of the Royal family, aud the member* of the diplomatic body were present, a special enclosure being reserved for Royalty and visitors from India and the colonies*. The weather ii brilliant, and the proceedings were of an imposing character. Sir Graham Berry and Sir James Garrick have sent a joint despatch to Lord Granville. Colonial Secretary, expressing a hope that he will urge that France should withdnuyfrom the New Hebrides at the earliest possible moment. j

London, July 3. An interview takes place to-day between Sir Graham Berry and Lord Rosebory, Foreign Secretary, on the subject of affairs in the New Hebrides. At a banquet to-night, tinder the auspices of the Imperial Federation League, Lord lio^ebery, in the course of his speech, stated that the Government had spoken the voice of the people on the New Hebrides question. It is understood that tho General Post Offico is awaiting an expression of the views of the colonies regarding tho tenders for the federal mail service before taking any action in the matter. The Counters of Derby held a reception in honour ot the colonial visitor. The Agents-General, the Executive Commissioners, and a number of leading colonists will be entertained at luncheon by the Queen on Monday nevt, at Windsor Castle. Her Majesty will hold a reception for colonial visitors afterwards. The new Oriental Bank Company shows a gross profit of £155,000. They will open a branch in Australia immediately after the depression. 150 pictures from the Grosvenor Art Gallery will bo sent to the Jubilee Kxhitioti if it is under Government patronage. Sir Samuel Davenport has been enrolled a member of the Ironmonger's Society. Mr Baxter has been appointed London manager of che Australian Joint Stock Bank.

On the 12th (Monday) he will hold a special sale at Cambridge of 1000 ewes, overland from Napier, The date of Messrs W. J. Hunter and Co. 'a Oha'-.po live atock sale has been altered from tho lith to the 13th inst. Lists of lots to be submiteed will be found in advertisement. On the same day they will sell under bill of sale 20 choice yearling steers. During tho winter tho Cambridge) horse and cattle sale will be held on tho name day. The next will be held on Saturday next. Tho cattle sale previously advertised to be held at Cambridge on Thursday will not now take place.
