TWILIGHT.
In her diadem a star Brighter than all others are ; Robe of purple, gold, and blue, Ever changing its bright hue ; Bordered with a fringe of red Which the sun left when he fled ; Gentle voice, that through the tries Whispers low, sweet melodies. But she only stays to smile On us for a littie while ; Left there by the sun, alone. From her check the blush ha* flown; See how it begins to pale As she hears night's rising Rale. On the western ridge she stays, Takes a farewell, backward g»ze, Sees the back night coming on. Fainter grows,— and now,— isjfone. — J. H. Symes.
