[RKUTER'S TELEGRAMS-l London, July 1. Conservative candidates have been returned unopposed for three of the Liverpool seats, Baron de Worms being one of the number. Mr Michael Davitt, Home Ruler, announced himself a candidate in opposition to the Marquis of Hartington. Mr Gladstone has issued an appeal to the London rlectors calling upon them to support such candidates as are pledged to tedress the injustice which Ireland suffers, and thus consolidate a hearty union between that country and England, which will add inevitable .strength to the British Empire. A Press Association menage says :— At present 122 Unionist candidates and 123 supporters of Mr Gladstone have been returned unopposed.
[press association.] London, July 1. The Fenian* are making menaces against Lord Hurtington and Mr Chamberlain, and in consequence these gentlemen have placed under police protection.
