THE SUPPOSED MURDER AT WELLINGTON. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Wednesday.
At the Magistrate's Court in the afternoon, ■ John Roberts, arrested on suspicion of the murder of Kdward Mullens, was brought up. The ortly witness e\amined wa<» O. Rv~ Brown, an employe of the WellingtonManawatu Railway, who swore that he .saw Mullens on Satiuda-y moi-ning, which w& "a,, day after he was in the cDinpfttiv of, Roberts thuss proving the innocence of the accused. , • The magistrate feaid he' had no • hesitation in ordering tliat Roberts should be discharged. In doing so he must any that ho far as the present charge was concerned, there was no shadow cast upon his character. The evidence entirely relieved him from any suspicion of having caused the death of his fiiend.
