Orangemen Determined to Fight.
At a meeting of Orangemen on the 14th May at Ncwry, a resolution was passed enthusiastically, pledging those present uuvur to submit to a parliament in Dublin, ami to resist payment of taxes to it. The name of cscry Orangeman present was enrolled as a volunteer to take up arms and light in case the Home Rule Bill was parcel. At a district meeting of the Orangemen at Mournv, representing over 5000, held near Kilkeel, a similar resolution wm passed, and names were enrolled. Ar» rangementa were made for drilling and equipping men with arms. Many independent ladies ami old men are arranging to leave the country. Vigilance com. mittees have been appointed in every district to receive and distribute arms. Yesterday's Standard contained the following advertisement :— " As Adjutant.—Required a field officer, for the league in support of the Loyalists in Ireland, the objects of which will be explained at the meeting in WilliaVrooma on Monday next, at eight p.m.—Application to hon. sec, the — — League, 5, Parkplace."
A meeting of the Isle of Wight electors, convened by the Liberal party, was held at Newport on the 14th May, Col. Atherley, president of the Liberal Association, presiding. A resolution was passed expressing entire condemnation of Mr Gladstone's proposals. The Londonderry Sentinel states :— " "We learn that within the last few days an order from one district of County Tyrone, for a thousand rifles has passed through Derry. We have it on reliable authority that more revolvers and rifle* have been sold in Derry withiu the past three months thau for the preceding five year 3."
