The weather was tine, and the attendance good. The wicket \viu> rather lumpy. The Australians, with three wickets down and 282 runs to their ciedit, continued their first inningi with Jones and Bruce, the notouts of yesterday. Tne former only succeeded in addiuc; 5 to his scoie when he was caught, his innings having resulted in a splendid total of 151. fionnor joiued Bruce. Both players rapidly augmented the score. The latter at length was caught when he had contributed 40, while Bouuor played a good innings for 47. Of the playeis who followed Garrett wan the most successful, cairying out his bat for 51. Bluckham and E\ana both batted well, contributing 3(J and 27 lespectively. The innings closed for a total of 488, or 17 ahead of the Gentlemen. The latter, owing to the absence of Lucas and Roller from injuries leceivod in the Held, played two men shoit, and only succeeded in putting together 105. (Jraee, Turner, and Hawke weto the highest scorers, each playing a careful innings. The second innings of the Gentleman clo->ed about time for drawing stumps, and the^ match was therefore declined drawn m favour of the Australians, who only required 89 runs to win in their second innings.
